Renovation Update!!

Whew...what a whirlwind!  We are officially moved into the house but lets just say we aren't quite settled and totally unpacked.  Considering how organized I usually am the fact that we aren't unpacked yet is rather shocking to me but in my defense we are still working on projects in the kitchen so I can't really unpack that stuff yet!  Here are some pictures of the progress...

Getting started with the basement paint...

Ripping out the kitchen tile.  Big shout out to the previous owners who decided it would be a great idea to have the original layer of linoleum, a layer of plywood, another layer of linoleum, another layer of the plywood and then some tile on top of that.  You guys are AWESOME!!!  But for real who the heck does that...what a pain in the butt to get out!!

The beginnings of the hardwood floors going in...we put hardwoods in the kitchen, dining room and living room upstairs and they are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!

The cabinets before paint...

Cabinet painting in progress...

We decided to paint an accent wall in the basement because the "latte" colored paint everywhere else was a little too dull for me...so we picked this color called "smoky slate" and this is what we got...looked like sea foam green barfed all over my walls...its was not pretty...

Needless to say we repainted the sea foam green disaster the next day to this fun burnt orange color called "falling leaves."  I promise its not soooooo bright orange now that its dry

Next I started painting the kitchen this amazing shade of green called "grass cloth."  I am in love with it...I have always wanted a green kitchen with white cabinets and stainless appliances...

Starting to put our new bed together.  So thrilled to have a king size bed although my dear husband has some how managed to figure out how to sprawl over the whole bed and make me feel like we are still sleeping in a queen size bed :(

This right here is my oasis in this mess of moving and renovations.  Sometimes I just come lay in bed and close the door and forget about all of the projects looming outside my bedroom door...

I will post a tour of the whole house when everything is done and all of my furniture has arrived :)
