Color Vibe 5K

My gal pals and I decided to sign up for the Color Vibe 5K in St. Cloud a couple weeks ago!  We all were bummed that we missed the Color Run in Minneapolis, so we signed up for this one which is supposed to be similar!  We picked up our race packets the morning of the run, complete with awesome sunglasses and our color packs which are made out of corn starch and coloring.

Katie and I ran the whole thing which we were both happy about!  There were color stations that you ran through during the race and people would throw more of the color powder on you, super cool because each station was a different color!  Jenny, Angie and Carryn even rolled around on the ground so they were covered in pink powder!  SO FUN!

After the run they had a color party where they had a DJ playing some great tunes and they gave out more color packets to throw around!

We decided it would be a good idea to wear garbage bags home so we didn't get the car covered in colored powder.  Angie struggled a bit with getting hers on! HAHA!

 

We had such a blast and decided we would definitely do it again next year!

 

 

 



A Day On The Lake

 

My mom's birthday was the beginning of August so we planned a fun family boating adventure on Lake Minnetonka for the day!  After a couple weeks of cooler than usual weather we were so thrilled when the weather was PERFECT!!!  High 70's and sunny!  We couldn't have asked for anything better!

 

 

 

Thank goodness for Nicks boat driving expertise!  I think we would have been lost if it hadn't been for him!  Naturally Avery wanted to take a try a driving too so we found a WIDE open area and let her give it a whirl!

 

Nick found a nice calm spot and we all jumped right in!  Scott hopped in first and was a little dramatic, he said the water was freezing (which it wasn't)!  Quote of the day, Scott swimming around yelling "THE CURRENT, THE CURRENT, ITS TOO STRONG!"  The lake was perfect even little Avery could manage "the current."

We ended the day with a stop at Lord Fletchers for some grub!  I ended up with a wicked sunburn, but it was totally worth it!  What a fun time we had!  We will cherish these fun days together as a family forever!!!

Smedstad Family Reunion

Nothing says summer like a good old fashioned family reunion!  We were lucky enough to have my brother, sister in law and two nieces up here last week from Oklahoma!  I was so good to see them!  We decided to have a big Smedstad family reunion at my uncle Tom's cabin in Maple Lake, Minnesota.  It was so much fun!  The weather left much to be desired...it was drizzling and chilly all day but we made the best of it and ate lots of great food!

On Sunday we celebrated sweet Sasha Leigh's 4th birthday!!!  What a beautiful day that turned out to be!  We were able to spend the afternoon outside playing games, eating delicious food and spending time with family.
